Hi!  We're the Powells... Shelby, Geoff, Hannah and McKenzi.  We live in Hinsdale, MA. , an area better known as "The Berkshires".  About 10 1/2 years ago we were interested in adding  a dog to our family.  After researching different breeds to find a dog that would be good not only with our two young daughters, but with my daycare kids...(yes I do home daycare also), we became interested in the Olde English Bulldogge.  We found a breeder in New York and that's where we bought Max.  It was love at first sight!  A year or so later,  we, okay, I  decided that maybe Max needed a friend and along came Bella!  I really wanted to breed these two, but needed to convince my husband first!  I also was a little nervous...these were my babies, but the idea of having puppies (little Max's) was so exciting to me, that I decided to investigate this. I spent a lot of time reading Breeding/Whelping books, finding information on several different websites and forums and checking out SEVERAL breeders sites before venturing into this.  I finally decided that I was comfortable enough with the process and decided to go for it ... Wow, what an experience having puppies has been!  I have to admit that although I absolutely enjoy every minute with them, it's a lot of hard work!  There are many decisions to be made and taking care of a litter is a 24/7 job!  Breeding is not just throwing two dogs together.  So many things can happen.  Breedings may not take, puppies may die!  Dogs are expensive to feed, to take care of medically and of course, there are the numerous toys, bones and treats to buy!  I still feel like a "newbie"  to breeding....there's always more to learn... and am happy with the litters we've produced.  In my opinion, all I can do as a responsible breeder is try my darndest to breed as healthy a puppy as I can.  Obviously, genetics are what they are and I will never knowingly breed dogs that have any types of "bad genes".  I want everyone who buys a puppy from me to be happy with their new addition and hope that each new owner and puppy has a happy journey together. We have been able to add loving pets to wonderful families!  As hard as it is for me to say goodbye to each puppy, it's so rewarding to see the smiles on the new families faces!  It really does make it all worth it!  I have been lucky enough to have most families who've bought puppies from me keep in touch and send pictures often.  I absolutely love getting pictures of my babies as they grow!

Over the course of my 9 years of breeding, I added AKC Bulldogs and more recently, AKC Shih Tzus.   As I have retired my Oldes &  my English, I have decided to not add anymore Bulldogs for now.  This has been an extremely tough decision for me to make but I am taking a break from breeding Bulldogs.  I will continue my breeding program of Shih Tzus.  If you're looking for an AKC Bulldog or an Olde English Bulldogge, I'd be happy to give you names of other breeders.

Obviously, as you can tell, we love our dogs!  I can't say enough about them!  We look forward to watching our dogs grow and see how their babies develop and love the fact that we are able to add happiness to families with each puppy we place!!
